The New Generation Technologies business activity of the National VET E-learning Strategy manages FLAG's E-standards for Training and Applied Research projects. Under the auspices of the E-standards Expert Group (EEG), we research technologies, technical standards and specifications then, based on that research and expert advice, we develop, recommend and maintain technical standards - the E-standards for Training - for the Australian vocational education and training (VET) sector. In addition, we provide support for the implementation of both the standards and emerging technologies that may be of benefit to the VET sector.
The business activity works towards ensuring that the VET sector has access to a broad range of online learning resources that are re-usable and adaptable, easily discovered, reviewed and obtained, readily transferred to different delivery platforms, and accessible to users across state borders and sectoral boundaries together with interoperable supporting systems.
Research supporting the e-standards can be found on our sister site - the E-standards for Training along with the e-standards themselves and implementation guidance for the standards and related technologies.
